As most villagers will know, the Langham Bluebell closed its doors upon the sale of the Harper Hotel. With news that the current owners are looking to sell the pub, a small inaugural meeting took place of local volunteers to initially lead the potential community purchase in order to secure the long term future of our historic village pub.
As such the steering committee of ‘The Blue bell Community Pub’ has been launched!
Urgent appeal:
The Committee has stepped up to lead the acquisition process, legal arrangements and formal business planning but we would love more people to be involved. We need your energy, skills and support to make this vision a reality for everyone in Langham, so please get in touch if you think you can help.
Secondly, there is an immediate need of some seed funding. We are asking the ‘Friends of Langham’ group to provide a refundable £1,000 donation in order for us to cover startup costs, obtain professional help by joining the Plunkett Foundation and fund the consequential registration fees. Longer term the steering committee intends to host a community meeting to share more details, provide a ‘roadmap’, explore feedback from the village and answer your questions.
